Default PREADATOR question...

Does it tell or show you where your CURRENT settings are, or allow you to save what your current pre loaded settings are before you start to adjust ???

For example, if I wanted to change say fan settings or shift points, would the current settings be shown first so you'd know where you are at before changing them with the Preadator?

Also, is there some pre-set program that you can download that has all the adjustments already in there for you, or do you have to individually alter what you like?

Thanks

The best I can tell from my experience:

1. First, the Predator marries itself to your car's VIN#
2. Thenm downloads & saves your stock tune so you can restore it later if you need to.
3. Allows you to install the Predator tune, then modify certain parameter values in that tune. Some like the shift rpm, mph, fan temps have the current value installed and show the changing values as you modify. Others like shift quicknes and firness only shown a percentage changes (+ or -).
4. Current there there are no pre-set files that you can download on your own. You will have to get custom tuning files from a Predator tuner.

:iagree:

It first saves your stock tuning so you can reinstall it in case you need to take your car to the dealer or just want to. Then it installs a base performance program which adjusts the torque management and some presets for other items. You have to pick whether or not you have a stick or an automatic.

After the base performance tuning is installed, you can change the other variables. If you leave them alone, they will be stock. Otherwise, each setting has a +/- setting which lets you change for example with the shift quickness on an A4 +/- 25 and the same with the shift firmness. There are also settings for the fans on and off temps, Air/Fuel mixture, rev limiter, shift rpms as well as shift mph, timing, tire size, and different gears. Basically, you can choose which items you want to change, or leave alone. The Predator will then install your custom programming, check it, and save it.

It is it true that you can adjust the CAGS setting so you wont get the 1-4 skip shift with the preadator??

I've heard that you can but there is nothing in the actual manual for the predator that talks about the cags eliminator for the vette. I'm going to try mine out this weekend to see what exactly it will and won't do.
