Still diagnosing why #6 tail light fuse keeps blowing.
Old posts say it’s headlight or taillight grounds or multi switch stalk pn 26075870. The price has shot up as high for USED one. Someone said Dorman has one but I can’t find it.
Going to clean the copper contacts on the multifunction switch. Any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
A bad ground does NOT cause a fuse to blow as well as a bad MFS in and of itself…when does the fuse blow ??…if you have an incandescent test light or test light bulb and have some electrical knowledge you can find the short to ground…a wire is shorted to the body somewhere before the “load”..ie…the bulbs.
This is great. Thanks for the help. #6 blows almost as soon as I turn on the headlights.
Going to dig in with a tester this weekend to find the faulty wire or socket.

To isolate the short to the front lighting locate Connector C100 which is an 8 pin connector forward of the horns…with the connector disconnected connect a test light to battery positive with the headlights off and when you probe each wire the wire which is shorted to ground will cause the test light to illuminate…I don’t think the rear lights have a connector but I’ll have to look...the lights associated with C100 are the Marker Lamps front left and right ( Pin A and D), Park/Turn Signal Lamps front left and right (Pin B and C)
Thanks for the thorough detail. Those images will help. Been working two jobs but I will try this.
