Good Morning,
My passenger side window no longer goes down. Neither button does anything.
when the buttons are pushed to lower the window, there is a faint clicking noise.
I tried the "tap the screws in the door" thing to no avail.
It's definitely not the janky regulator cables as there was no grinding noise prior to it stopping working.
I guess I should replace the regulator anyway?
Thanks in advance!
Could be loose electrical connection at the door to car connector, try shaking the rubber accordion where the wiring from the car to the door passes through. It could also be a bad relay in the door module, I belive your window not working is electrical in nature and not mechanical.
When I had the issue with my window not lowering and hearing the click, I had to actually hit the back of the motor with a screwdriver handle to get it freed up. Still going strong after years of use.
When you get things working again, it is worth cycling the windows occasionally. I installed a window valet so I roll both windows down to let the heat out when approaching my car.
