Since the secondary air pump is not sold or produced anymore and I can not find a used one. Is there anyway to take this out of the system completely where the MIL will not come on. This is my father-in-law's car and he does not want the MIL on. I saw a TSB for an older version of the air pump removal but it was on a caprice. Anyone?
The system can be tuned out with software such as HP Tuners; if the system is also physically removed, access the spark plugs is better. Somewhere in the archives is the procedure if you have the software to do it yourself.
