How to remove my windshield washer cap
This is the windshield washer cap that I need to replace but I can’t figure how to remove it without braking it. Has anyone removed one and I’m sure it’s pretty simple but I’m having a brain freeze.

It doesn't come off without breaking it.
If you need to replace it open the cap, pull on it away from the reservoir until there is a small space between the reservoir and part of the retaining ring, then use a blade or some wire cutters to cut the retaining ring.
The new one will snap over the beveled plastic retainer molded into the neck of the reservoir.

Did GM change these over the C5 production run? My 2004 has a ring with the cap connected. I pop the tap on the cap and then lift off the ring around the reservoir. I remove it and reinstall it on regular basis when I swap it for chrome engine bling show caps.

Yep. So is mine. I lift the cap via the tab and them remove the ring and it comes off. The ring is not connected to the reservoir tank. I don't need any special tools and just simply work the ring off and the connected cap comes off with it.
