Rod, here is the process from a 2000 service manual.
If you replaced the batteries in a previously working fob you should be following "Synchronizing" at the bottom right.
If you bought new fobs it's the "Programming" process at bottom left.
What step in the process are you getting unexpected results and what results are you getting?
I just put in new batteries and followed all the steps to program FOBS... nothing!
