Hello,
Been looking at a 98 ...
Vin # search and carfax indicated less distance travelled than is showing on the odometer.
Owner had to replace the instrument cluster etc as 'something ' made that necessary.
So my question is:
Is it possible to reset the odometer to what is should be ?
Thx
Yes it is possible to have the odometer corrected. you will have to go to a dealer or a speedometer repair shop to have this done.
he probably changed the panel after thee DIC stopped working

Yes, it is possible to program an odometer. It happens nearly every time you buy a new one.
You can send your cluster off to a speed-o repair shop. There is one called Odo-Pro. Do a Google search.
I'm in a similar boat. My 6,100 mile 2004 Z16 Z06 got 2 feet of flood water in the garage which damaged my original cluster among other things. I had proof that my car had 6,100 miles on it, as part of my original cluster still lit up showing the miles, so I had a 40K used cluster I bought and am having them fix the true mileage of my car.
