C5 stuck cd cassette removal
Hello....I should have taken pictures. I can still explain how I removed a stuck CD cassette, cartridge from the player.
I think I hit a big pothole and jarred the car while the CD player was switching CD's.
Mind you, this worked for me. Hopefully if you're experiencing the same problem it will work for you.
Obviously remove the player from the car.
Remove the player covers by removing the small screws on each side of the player and the 2 near the connector on the back.
The 2 piece covers will simply lift off and you'll probably think "what am I getting into"? No problem, you're fine.
I don't remember if it was the top or bottom of the unit. On one of these, you're see a few "openings" in the unit frame. You'll see two openings with white nylon parts in them. One is fixed and the other will push and should if not fully, possibly partially release the cassette. Mine was partially. I went to the back of the car and plugged the connector back in, the covers were still off, and the cassette fully released. There was a loose disc in the opening.
Put the covers back on and done!
