Odd electrical problem
I have a problem of an electrical nature and I am baffled as I know next to nothing about electrics I will try and post all relevant things I have found in the hope someone has a solution.
Car is a 2003 *** import to the Uk
The lights have all been changed to led and orange turn signals inc hyper flash
Cause . In order to have orange turn signals a small piece of wiring loomis added in between the main wiring loom and the rear loom ( near right back wheel . This all worked perfectly until the loom ( due to the added length ) dropped down onto the exhaust and melted .
Problem . All the front lights work perfectly .All the back lights work perfectly when turned on but when turned off the brake lights and turn signals light even with the ignition off and the key out .
Things I have looked at .If I unplug the hazard warning switch the turn signal lights go out but brake lights remain on
Fuse that does brake lights and hazard lights looks like it has had some heat through it
Testing either side of the fuse I get 12 v on one side and 8 on the other
Any tests that will narrow this down will be greatly appreciated

It looks like I don't have a 2003 specific wiring diagram, but at first glance the 2002 and 2004 tail light circuits look identical, so chances are that nothing is changed on the 2003 model. I thought for sure that one of my diagrams displayed the Euro-specific tail light harnesses. If I find it, I'll attach it as well.
See the attached diagram(s) to determine which components and which fuses are hot at all times. Frankly, my fear is that if the lights were used while the harness was melted on the exhaust (AKA - a dead short to ground), there is no telling what sort of damage could have been done to the rest of the harness, or where this damage may be located, but you likely have a few additional melted wires somewhere. Were none of the fuses blown as a result of this dilemma? I expect that you will need an ohm meter with long jumper leads to test the vehicle harness for continuity, shorts to ground, shorts to power, and shorts between the various light circuits between the back of the car and the switches/fuses/relays and etc. in the front of the car.
In addition to the ohm meter, I expect that you will need at least a half bottle of Laphroaig to get this sorted out.
Best of luck with it!
