C5 transmssion
Hey everyone, I have made a few posts and the information always seems to be reliable so I have a few more questions. I have been needing to get a new transmission and I have a few questions. I have a manual 6 speed in mine and my second gear synchro has been grinding for some time. I have considered rebuilding my transmission but i’ve heard that it can be expensive and that my transmission is in very poor condition. I have found someone local selling a manual transmission out of a 2006 corvette. I can tell my looking at it that it is slightly different, but since it isn’t the upgraded 6060 that came in the later C6 models, I’m wondering if it will mate up to the torque tube and the rear differential fine or if it requires more. My corvette is a 2001.

The extension housing is going to be different. It can be swapped over, but you're going to need to check/set bearing endplay for the 5/6/R gut stack. How cheap are you getting this C6 trans? It's uncommon to find them under $2,000. I want to say that's where a Tick rebuild starts.
