I have been deciding whether or not to spend the bucks on the Vararam system  . With a price tag such as this unit has, I tend to pause and ask questions. If I go back to 1983 college physics :conehead , The design seems to be a model for the Benulli principle. The flow of air seems to slow down near the air box. The greatest pressure appears to be found at the flat elbow as the path turns upward. so the actual pressure of air or greatest air volume seems to be restricted right there. And after the air flows past the restriction it no longer has the pressure needed to boost the performance to the desired effect. I like the principle of directing the hi pressure clean cool air into a chamber proximal to the MAF.
Vararam seems to by design restrict low speed air volume and at high speed would cause an air damn effect due to the elbow narrow.
Has anyone measured the air flow and pressures at the air box at various speeds? I'd like to know how the system actually directs air in to the engine where it counts.
The K&N twin filter design with cold air screens would appear to flow well at low speed and with increased compartment pressure would also do well at hi speed.
Don't misunderstand my theory. I like the product. I have opened my hood and I can't see any better way to channel the air through those vents. I just was wondering if anyone else has studied this product.
