C5 Z06 Temp Trouble
I own a 2003 Z06 and it's having some temperature issues. Now bear with me here because I'm aware I don't live in the best conditions for a Z06 but I'm trying to resolve this issue. Recently, temps have been climbing pretty bad. I've seen it get around 230 and stay there in summer traffic jams. I'm relatively new to Corvette ownership so I'm unaware if this is normal as it hasn't done this until recently. I saw one thread and a comment mentioned using an air compressor to blow out dirt from the rad, which would make sense because I live off of a dirt road. I recently flushed the coolant and now temps remain around 190 for city driving. Since I live on a dirt/gravel road, I don't like to go faster than basically idle to prevent shooting rocks everywhere and that's typically when temps exceed 200. For reference, I just put it in first and let the clutch out and the car does the pulling for me, I don't touch the gas pedal until I'm on asphalt. Can anyone help?
Fans don't come on until going up another 20- 30 degrees.
You could install a Sac City Cool It so you can call up high left fan with a fob from the cockpit. I like mine and use it sometimes at low speed and always coming off track. I put it in about 10 years back
