am looking for suggestions for a cam for my 422 iron block buildup. will be running hydraulic, ls6 heads, 2.08/1.6's, etc. 6 speed car and will run 3.90 gear. looking for driveable, but horsepower, as in high 10 sec ride. the s1 cam with specs of 244,244/612,612@112 has been cam of chioce to date due to #'s of others. but any input appreciated. also, any sugg's on lifters, etc appreciated as well. thanks, joe
I ran a "modified" S1 pattern... 610/610, 242/242, 113 in my car and LOVED IT.. I still have this cam (from MTI), with under 3000 miles on it.. for sale, for $250 if you are interested in it..

Re: 422 iron block cam? (ADMIRAL JOE)
S1, S1, S1, S1, S1, S1 on a 112lsa. MTI is building my 427 ironblock as we speak and i am going with the battle tested, proven and awesome performing S1, which put the first all motor LS1 car into the 9s on motor only (THe Colonel's F body with MTI 422 Z07 Stroker). Et of 9.88 at 135mph plus!:D Even though i have an A4 i'm going with this bad boy on a 112lsa as i want to see consistent 10sssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in the 1/4 mile.
Go with a proven, battle tested winning combination.
I really like how my 242/242 .612/.612 114LSA idles and drives... I guess its similar specs to an S1..
Check my sig for a dynograph.. It doesnt peak too high in the RPM and has a nice flat torque curve, all which I like because of what I mostly use the car for.
