C5 Z06 confusing knocking sounds
I’m new to this group and have recently ran across an issue with my c5 z06 that’s got me and my friends puzzled. A few days ago I was going for a rather fast highway drive and pulled off into a gas station when coming to a stop I noticed a dull knocking sound coming from what sounded like the floorboards. I got out of the car and couldn’t hear the noise from anywhere in the engine bay or from anywhere else outside of the car. I then turned the car off and back on and when I turned it back on I saw an ABS and traction control light and the dull knocking continued. (I have been running into issues with the abs and had soldered the circuit board to fix it about 6 months ago) I tried to begin diagnosing but just wanted to get the car home as it was late. On the drive I noticed the noise didn’t change with engine RPM or the clutch or any gear changes. However, it got significantly worse when breaking especially in heavy breaking. I thought it might be a break abs controller failing but when removing the fuse for the abs module the noise continued. I’m not sure what could cause a noise while the engine is idling not moving anywhere and gets worse when breaking.
any tips would be greatly appreciated
thanks!
