I am new to this forum and have owned my ‘99 C5 Convertible for a little over 2 years. My latest SMOG check (yes, I live in California!) resulted in the technician being very unhappy with an “unconnected” connector on the radiator shroud. The previous owner installed a Vortex intake and obviously left the errant connector loose. I believe it is the connector for the original Mass Air Temp sensor that the new intake relocated without removing the original plumbing. See below:
I would appreciate any advice on what I can do to eliminate this errant connector. My GM Shop Manuals do not address this. Thanks in advance!
Mas air flow sensor and intake air temperature sensor are plugged in. Is your flashlight aimed at the disconnected air pump hose, or is the air pump missing? I need a better picture.
Looks like your air tube. It's for your air pump. Stock, it is connected to filtered air so it doesn't suck up garbage. Actually all C5 air filters should have a provision for this tube.
