Hi to all. Last week i replaced the water pump because it start to leak. i very little leak.
It was the original pump.
My car has 86000Km ( about 53000 Miles).
Is normal after these few km replace the water pump?
I read on internet that the water pump is guaranteed for at least 100K miles.... True or not??
In the past my car (before i purchased it) has been stoppet for at least 2 3 years.
No, there is no guarantee. Even if the part carried a warranty, that is still no guarantee that the pump will not fail. It's merely a promise to replace it. Water pumps can fail for several reasons. The most common reasons are due to a failure of the shaft seal, or a failure of the shaft bearing. There could be various reasons for the failure of the aforementioned water pump components, but the seal failure could be simply due to age. Rubber seals, hoses, tires, wiper blades, body seals and etc. are attacked by ozone and other environmental contaminants over time and can cause the breakdown and eventual failure of those rubber components.
