So this started with a squeaking noise...lol (recently purchased 2004 CE 18,000 miles)
I replaced the top tension pulley , hoping for a quick fix...nope
I then started listening and found the sound over on the alternator area, and then saw this pulley...
Going to pull the belt off tonite and see if the pulley spins freely and is actually turning the pump as well...
My question is: Does everyone go with the AC Delco Pump @ $535.00 or another off brand for say $180 ?? Rock Auto prices...
Have the pump rebuilt by turn one steering. They are the best of the best.
but also don’t jump to conclusions with a belt squeal. These are very tricky and sometimes can be misleading. Try running the car quickly without a belt to try and isolate the noise. I had a squeal coming from what I 100% believe was the alternator. Turned out it wasn’t.
