I have a miss on number 5 cylinder. Changed wires changed plugs and still have a miss. Mainly at idle.any suggestions would be appreciated. Car has 28000 miles on it.
Could be an injector or injector wiring...possibly coil or coil wiring but highly doubtful because they are bulletproof...could be mechanical too...if you want to drive a few hours south I'd be happy to look at it for you...I use the most advanced testing techniques.

Damn....You are such a nice guy - and an insanely knowledgeable individual to boot.

If you started with a miss at number five and you changed all plugs and wires and still only have a miss at number five I would triple check that you got that wire all the way on just because that fix is free.
Did that plug look any different than the others? Is this car new to you and has had the miss since you bought it a week ago or is this a new problem that appeared out of nowhere? Had the valve covers off to see if the valves are moving any different than the others?
Guess you could try swapping-out a coil, see if the miss moves with it.
Next would be to swap an injector.
Does #5 have compression?
Change the coil no improvement and it has compression. Never thought about the injector maybe tomorrow I'll try that. Just been a big pain in the ***. Thanks

Check the wire harness at the back by the firewall on the left side. There is a bracket back there that is known for chafing the wires inside that part of the harness
I've got a similar problem, p0354 code, no misfire code, I've got no P0304 not even a P0300, just P0354. I moved coil, wires, plugs, injectors, then replaced plugs and wires, pulled computer and signal traced all wires, wiggle tested the wires, opened computer to check for weak solder joints/burnt components, ran an oscilloscope test, checked that the spark plug is tan showing it is burning fuel, cleaned ground points at battery to frame, right front, left front, under master cylinder, and cleaned and tightened bolts that hold coil packs.
Last thing done to car prior to this problem was clutch install job done by me. There is a wire loom holder on the back of engine top right that holds the wiring harness in place, and is bolted to the bell-housing-to-engine that I didn't bolt down.
What's next? Anyone near Lakeland that can pay eyes on this to double check me? Does the wire loom holder top right back of motor also serve as ground for the wire harness?/engine?

Did you scope the #4 coil signal wire AT the PCM ??…if you see either 3-20 Hz or a 0-5 volt square wave with the engine running at the PCM the PCM is putting out a signal…did you check the brown Low Ref. wire at the coil pack ??…that is the ground for the signal wire and best checked with a test light or better yet an old headlight connected to B+.

This is where my knowledge ends in automotive. I can learn this on an adjacent pack and compare results to the suspect pack/line. Can u send me an instructional video? 🙏
My coil pack is good because I've moved them all around and the code stays put. replaced plugs and wires too. Continuity tested the wires as well. I'm about ready to buy a computer but don't wanna do so needlessly. Need someone to check my work. I need help

Like I mentioned you have to backprobe the signal wire AT the PCM and if no signal you need a new PCM…that’s all I can tell you !!

Can you shoot me a message or even a reply back about the price of running these tests? I live in Cape Coral as well. I have a 99 C5 FRC Base and I think it just needs the timing adjusted on the lower RPM (I made a post about this if you'd like to look it over with much more information provided)

Any chance you go by Bob or Bobby?
No timing adjustment on these cars…I just sent you a PM !!
