the front screw will go through the material. You need to locate the hole for the screw. It is in the metal frame corner. The foam moves and it can cover the hole.
If you have an ice pic or similar tool you can use it to locate the hole.
The barrel clip needs pushed in straight and firm.
‘I left the screw started but not tight till I got everything lined up.

I need to get a closer look at the part that broke. The stud with the barrel clip should slide in to the seat further than it is.
The hard part is getting the front screw through first and then pulling the material to get the stud and clip in to the frame as the plastic has to bend a little to make that turn—if that all makes sense. I am likely going to just pull the seat and do it on a bench versus trying to install the piece with the seat mounted to the cabin .

Yes pull the seat it takes less than a couple mins.
Might look in the hole for the stud. If they have replace the outer plastic part it may have the old stud and clip in the hole. When I got mine it was broke and I had to remove the original one as it was till in the seat.
I've read a few posts on the plastic bezel that holds the power seat buttons regarding how to install it as the dealership cracked mine.
Is there a trick to getting this back on so it fits properly? My seat foam isn't totally crushed so I'm thinking that it should have a decently tight fight to the seat bolster. For those that have repaired the plastic with a GM replacement, did you put the front screw in first and then get the side in or vice versa?
I spent the better part of the morning trying to get that bottom screw in place with no success. I finally pulled the seat, installed the bezel and had it all back together in 15 minutes.
