Default Headlight actuator question.

2004 Corvette Headlight issue....

Drivers side headlight will not go up unless I turn the manual control **** a few turns. After I do that it will go up and back down smoothly but it will not go back up again after that. The gears and motor seem fine and there are no noises, it just will not come up on its own (the motor will not run) until I turn that **** a few turns.

What should I look for?

I had the exact same issue on my 2000.
It would not operate on the drivers side unless I gave the manual **** a few turns, then it would work once or twice then not work anymore.
Previous owner definitely had replaced the motors on mine. The passenger side has always worked though.

I just replaced the motor on the driver side and have not had a problem since. I never found out what the actual issue was but I had no noises at all when it was not working (like grinding or clicking that would suggest the motor was good but the gear was bad) so I just figured something internal to the motor was bad.

Here is the one that I got:

Try this before replacing anything. Disconnect the line between the headlight motor and control module. Clean all the connector making sure they fit tightly. This process worked for my headlight issue.

I unplugged the big plug (4 or 5 wire) going to the headlight to test for voltage and its there. Is that what you are referring to?
Thank you guys.
