Re: Does a "High" flow air duct really increase hp.... (Phil97SVT)
I installed one. It more or less completed my change out of everything in front of the throttle body. I can't say I saw any SOTP change. I think they will provide more benifit on cars with SC's.

I am debating about lowering my radiator and custom fabricating a 3.5" to 4" pipe. IMO it will look alot cleaner and cost of mod less than $50.

LAPD HF Air Duct & Coupler look great (but may rub you hood liner) and is "cheap" at $175. I am sure there are a few horses to be found somewhere in there-but it is more than likely not measurable.
To me, it would just compliment my "complete intake package" to match my complete "exhaust package."

Hey Phil, keep me posted on the lowering of the radiator and using a peice of pipe. I have been looking into this for the last year and would like to figure out someway to get away from that kinked up bend across the top of the radiator like you are trying to do. Shoot me a e-mail and we can talk it over Nate

Apparently the big tuners don't think so. Check a picture of their engine packages - they still use the stock setup.
I noticed that on a picture I saw of a Lingenfelter modded engine about a year ago. I basically asked this same question here on the Forum and most of the responses said it's more of an appearance upgarde then a HP upgrade. I settled on just a Blackwing and passed on the air duct. If the air ducts sold for under $100 I may have picked one up but not at the prices they get for them.
