B2253 code
I went to start my car this afternoon and lo and behold it wouldn’t start. It did finally start but it hadn’t done it again while I was running errands. I pulled the codes when I got home and found B2253. I know it’s a key cylinder switch fault. I’m new to the C5 and don’t really know what would need to be replaced or maybe cleaned. It has done this several times and I’m getting fed up with it. Any help would be appreciated.

My key switch has been acting up for months. I got tired of wondering if I will have a total failure requiring a tow job
. So, I had my go to Vette mechanic replace the switch last week. It took 4 new switches in GM boxes made in China crap before one finally worked. For how long?

Looking at the code list, I see a B2252: "B2252 Key Cylinder Switch Fault"
Clean the key slot with electrical cleaner like Break Free
After cleaning, try your regular key and also try your spare normally unused key.
