Default PO336 Crankshaft position sensor Code(replaced it)

Full disclosure: I’m no mechanic. So by this diagram none of the 3 wires that plug into my Crankshaft Position sensor should read as a ground with a test light, correct? The pin on the left fires the fuel pump when 12v is applied. The middle shows as a ground when power is applied and the right one has constant 12v when the key is on. So the middle (yel/blk) wire is bad somewhere? Car missing badly. Starts but will barely run.

Remove the PCM connector, then check resistance between PCM connector C1 pin 22 and the Crankshaft connector pin B, and resistance to ground at either connector(same pins).

If you already replaced the CKP sensor where did you buy it ??…if Amazon or EBay that is probably your issue….just because it’s new doesn’t mean it’s good !!…seen a lot of issues here with aftermarket sensors…it’s best to use a 12 volt incandescent test light to check your grounds depending on how much current the circuit draws but a test light should be sufficient to check this reference ground…if you can connect the test light to the sensor ignition feed or battery B+ the test light should illuminate brightly when touching the tip to Pin B…using an ohmeter to check grounds tells me nothing…the ONLY thing I use an ohmeter for is checking wiring on a CAN bus equipped car like my 2008…if I’m checking an O2 sensor heating circuit that draws around 1 amp I use an old headlight bulb that draws about 1 amp…also by applying 12 volts to the signal wire and hearing the pump come on you basically performed a “bypass test” so the signal wire is good to the PCM.

Get a real GM or Delphi sensor. Your old one is prob filled with oil and as mentioned the replacement one may be a fake if bought
on ebay/amazon type places.
