Default Electrical gremlins 1999 C5

Hi, I am new on this forum. I bought a 1999 C5 las year, and I have issues with electrical gremlins. When I measure the leakage the multimeter show 1.67 amps. I do also hear a "clicking" sound in the forward middle or right side of the engine room when connecting the battery. I have removed fuses from the engine room and inside the foot room, passenger side, but the leakage is still there? However when I removed all 10 amps fuses from the "foot room" the leakage dropped to 0.87 amps?
Any suggestions?
Thanks

1.67 Amps is not a leak, that's something always running or on.

First thing, when doing a current draw test connect the meter between the negative post of the battery and negative cable. When initial connection is made it will be a couple of amps being drawn and clicking from several relays. Leave this connected for about 10 min and see what the current reading is, it should be around 40ma. If after another 5 or so minutes it gets to about 20 ma you are good. If it stays at anything higher that 40ma past 30 min then there is some kind of draw.

Most common places for excessive draw are the seats, the control switches get stuff spilled in the and corrode making functions run continuously. There are other circuits that can also cause this issue. It would be best to pull one fuse at a time and see which circuit causes the current to decrease. If you continuously open and close the doors the car will not go into sleep mode.

Hi Gary, and thanks for your reply. When I connect the negative post of the battery and the negative cable with the multimeter, it "click" and it pulls 7-8 amps for a second, then it stabilize on 1.67 amps. The "click" sound comes from the middle forward or right forward part of the engine room?

If the current draw is still 1.67 after ten minutes start pulling fuses one at a time until it drops. Then investigate that circuit further.
