Anyone using the Bridgestone Potenza S-03 tires on their C5? I'm about to put new tires on my '98 and the Eagle F1 GS tires suck! They were the non-runflats to. I get my tires from Tire Rack and I compared all the available tires for my car and the Bridgestone Potenza S-03's had the better overall rating. Opinions are appreciated, thanks.
I don't have the Potenza S-03's on my Vette. I have them on my wifes SHO they are awesome tires in the wet, dry is pretty good as well. Snow? Forget about it they suck in snow. I would definately consider them if I was thinking about ditching the run flats.
I had a set on my 01-Coupe...great tire. Quiet, soft ride, good dry and wet traction. Significant difference to runflats...you can listen to your stereo.
I am using them on my 97 and I think they are great! Z06 size BFGs were mounted on my stock wheels and I went for the stock C5 size Bridgestone S03s. I have done some drag racing and autocrossing on the S03s and even though I went down in size they provide more grip and a quieter ride. I picked mine up from Tire Rack also and they had a great price and service.
I have them also, good tire. Just make sure you have them road forced before they mount them on your car. A lot of places don't do this, once in a while a bad tire will slip through QA. It could still balance okay, but be out of round.

Re: Bridgestone Potenza??!! (1998NassauBlue)
Great Tire
For the price, this is the way to go. I have them on my 98 coupe. Everything they say about them is true, quieter, softer ride, handles better. Car goes into turns much easier now. Just remember, now you have to get a tire repair kit like the Z06, Ecklers sells one or you can order one for a Z06 from your local GM dealer. A low profile jack would also be helpful.

I have a set on my 2000 FRC, have a little over 13,000 miles and 4 track days on them. As far as the track performance, there is no comparison to the stock run flats, these tires are a lot better. They are less noisy, and seem to do much better on the street as well. I still have a good amount of tread left too, the run flats only lasted 18,000 miles and they were really trashed, and they only had 1 track day! :auto:
S03's dont seem that good to me, I have to say I was pretty disappointed when I got mine after all the 'rave' reviews I'd read on here. I'm getting my 4th alignment done since putting these tires on, trying to get some handling back.
Once the Nitto 555R2's come out in 18's I'll be dropping these S03's in a heartbeat.

Re: Bridgestone Potenza??!! (jmX)
If you feel you need an alignment again. I don't know, but I have read, that you might want to try an alignment for a Z06 because there is a difference between the flexibility of the sidewalls on run flat and non run flat tires. Therefore the specifications are different.

Of the choices I found on tirerack they look to be a very good choice. My SZ50 stock size run flats are decent. I loved the non runflat Yokohama AVS Sports on my C4. I've heard great things about the S02. Has anybody run the Kuhmo Ecsta MX? The Kuhmo 712s are an awesome buy for the $. I'll probably step up to Z06 sizes when my SZ50s wear out and go back to Yokohamas or go with BFG KDs.
