I bought my C5 as is. It has heads, a cam, headers, big long tubes headers and then straight pipes. It was fun at first, but now it's a bit obnoxious starting it at 4:45am for work. My neighbors haven't verbally said anything, but seeing them when I'm coming home from work, I do notice a lot of side eyeing.
Anyway, I am looking for recommendations on just a low end muffler/s I can cut the pipes currently on the car and weld the mufflers into place.
The problem is space. To fit in the recesses you need mufflers similar to OEM, with inlet and outlet on one end. There are a couple of brands that have them, and I believe they are 2.5”, but no idea how restrictive they are.
Might I suggest a perusal of Facebook marketplace near you for an original system? They tend to be cheap other than shipping, and a cordless Sawzall would make retaining what you need a quick proposition.

BTR stage 3 cam, no cat, 1-7/8th long tubes with x pipe and a Corsa sport exhaust. Sounds amazing after the cold start idles down. At cruising speed no drone and very quite for what it is. I do have a truck divider ( z06). WOT sounds mea
Not a low end muffler. If you want cheap your best bet is a stock TI z06 with the bypass mod deal.
A used Borla if you can find one.
I keep trying to upload a 9sec clip but it’s not working
I used a stock base car catback over axle pipes and added the mufflers. A simple 9" bend and a tip finished it off. Later project was adding a custom butterfly valve in a bypass pipe.
