Power Steering pump removal, replacement, and bleeding...
The Manual says that I need the tools J43485, J35555, J25034-b, and J25033-b. Do any of you know if there are cheaper replacement tools for this job? They want over 300 dollars for these specialty tools. (two of them are bleeder tools for the power steering pump and two are for the removal and reinstall of the power steering pully)
I apprecate any help, I already have a new pump, I just need some alternatives for the specailty tools.
Re: Power Steering pump removal, replacement, and bleeding... (Jackal)
I had mine rebuilt last year because it was leaking. I pulled the alternator and its mount which brings the P/S pump with it. After that I could remove the pump. I let the rebuild shop deal with removing and reinstalling the pulley. Metric wrenches is all I used.

I'm 90% sure you can go get a generic power steering pulley puller from the local autoparts store and its going to work. As for all the other tools, you dont need them. I've had the whole system off, and I've bled the whole system with nothing but normal box wrenches. Getting the pulley off is the only thing that needs a special tool.

Jack the car up, support it on jack stands. Fill the resevoir back up, turn the wheel lock to lock many times to get the fluid sucked back into the lines. Start the car, turn the wheel lock 5-6 times and shut the car off. Top off the fluid, and do it again.
