Is this an O3 part? What part or part number is this replacing? I'm about to order my LS6 valley cover with the LS6 pcv tube part# 12573109. Thanks
If anyone knows more about this chime in and share the wealth!
Maybe we can all get rid of our pvc mods :D and just put this new gm pcv (different from pvc ...letters are different!), but I, for one seriously doubt it. :skep:
That would be giving the GM engineers to much credit IMHO
Steve
Replacing the PCV with a new style will not SOLVE this issue.. the oil coming up the tube towards the PCV still needs to go somewhere... if the PCV prevents the oil from getting past it, where does all that oil go???
The new PCV operates differently than the old. It just has a small orifice, no spring and check valve. Suppposedly, the smaller opening pulls less air under vacuum, hence pulls less oil into the throttle body. I bought one, MAYBE it is helping my consumption, too soon to tell.

:iagree: -- I had one PCV mod on my car, and I took it off when GM put this new PCV valve in my car during an oil consumption test. I think it helped a little on mine, but not enough to prevent a re-ring. Hoewever, once I got the new rings, I kept the new PCV without going back to the PCV mod, and with 3k miles I haven't had any problems.
