Default Need help fixing rain water leak through door

For the past 3-4 years I've been having this problem where rain water will leak into the car through the lower part of the drivers side door. The car was in an accident and I did replace the door with a junk yard one, and that's when this problem started to happen. Not from the top but from the very bottom of the door. I went crazy with trying to fix this recently by replacing the inner door seal, as well as the window seal. I removed the door panel and power washed all the gunk in there to keep the drain holes clean. I even put this black rubber seal so the interior trim might keep the water out. It's like it fills up between the inner door seals and spills over into the interior carpet. This isn't a problem for the passenger side. This is a 2002 Corvette Convertible. Anyone have any suggestions what might be causing this?

Nobody has ever had this issue? Does the door step area have a drain to let water out? Both sides are always wet after it rains, which I assume is normal. Also you can see the door step sticker things have started to life and I'm planning to replace them. All the water that pools up there has damaged them. For some reason it seems like the water fills up that door step area and will overflow in the interior. Actually, maybe I should check the udders. Maybe the source of the water is from them. When I opened the door the black plastic was wet all the way to the top. You can see it's a little wet, but by the time I got my phone a good deal of it had evaporated.

Are you sure the water is leaking in through the door panels? Have you checked the udders underneath the windshield cowl in the engine bay to make sure they aren’t full of debris?

You mentioned you did reinstall the plastic rain shield on the door panel that covers the large opening that allows access to the window regulator as that would be the first thing I would check. Mine crumbled when I removed it so I fabricated a piece of fiberglass which I then covered with ensolite sound deadening material and haven’t had any issues.

Another thought is to remove the lower reflector from the door panel and next time it rains reach in to try and figure out where the water is coming from. Maybe even remove the entire inside panel.

No one knows what you did correctly, or more importantly.....what was done incorrectly. Swallow your pride, and take it to a qualified shop for evaluation.

Will probably do this tomorrow.

I also replaced this. It was crumbling and clogging the drain holes.

I also did this a few weeks ago and at the time it was leaking in from the photo I showed.

I should also note I did the other door in the past. I've had auto bodies work on my Vette where they would not do a good job. Things like not gluing the inner fender and letting the front bumper hang. It's also rather easy to work on this car, so I'd rather do it myself. To give you an idea of the state my car was in years ago. And no, I wasn't driving it when this happened.

Has it been parked on a flat, level surface? I'm wondering if even a slight angle is causing water to drain towards inside the car.

Nah it was parked on a flat surface. When it leaked it was a heavy storm, so that's probably why it leaked like it did.

Oh. Sorry! It sounds like you have been dealing with a pesky issues of rainwater leaking into your car through the driver's side door. since the problem started after replacing the door with one from a junkyard, it might be related to the fit or seal of that door. Have you checked if the door is properly aligned and sealed against the car's body? Sometimes even a small gap can lead to water seepage. Good job on replacing the inner door seal and cleaning out the the gunk; that's a step in the right direction. make sure the drain holes at the bottom of the door are clear too. Consider checking the weather stripping around the door frame for any damage or gaps.

As far as I can tell. I did take the 3 utters out and 2 out of 3 were clogged. Not sure if that was the issue.
