I went to remove my rear bumper yesterday and got everything almost unbolted and unclipped but ran into a snag. There is one rear bolt behind the outer passenger side taillight that has a ground on it with the grounding strap and another wire coming to it to be grounded, the bolt broke loose fairly easy but I'm not sure if the washer is attached to the bolt or if it has just fused together over time. Below are pictures of the bolt, does any have experience removing this bolt without tearing where the ground strap is attached?
Ran into this myself. The whole thing was fused together. Ended up cutting off the grounding strap in order to make my life easier. On reassembly, I crimped a short extension to the strap then added a ring terminal to that.
Thank you for the information. I ended up snipping off the ground strap near the bolt along with the wire. I got the bolt backed out and found that there is actually a second nut underneath the other. Top nut is a 10mm and the bottom one is a 12 or 13mm. I tried getting them apart after I removed the bolt but they are definitely torqued or fused together. I'm going to pick up a new ground strap and an extra bolt/nut.
