X pipe question

X pipe question
I can't gut my cats because of emmisions but I can make 2 intermidate exhaust sections.
I can use the cats for everyday use and straight pipes for the track.
I currently have a magnaflow X pipe...and the configuration is cats just behind the Headers H pipe and the X pipe is just forward of where the cat back bolts to the intermediate section.
My question is: for the no cat straight pipe where should I locate the X pipe?
close to the headers, back near the catback flanges, in the middle???
