This may be a long shot, but wondering if anyone could possibly identify this nut so I can search further. I'm going to get the car up on a lift soon to inspect it, but I can't see anything missing from what I can see while it's on the ground. The nut spins freely from the inner piece. It randomly came off the car when I was about to pull in my driveway.
Possibly exhaust hanger nuts which attach the rubber isolator to the rear bumper cross bar.
The rubber shifter boot which is covered up by the console and console use nuts like that.
I'd check around the abs module on the drvers front on 99-04 cars in front of the power steering pump, the bracket changes so I'm not sure. It is in the rear on the 97-98 cars.
It would be a good idea to retorque control arms and cradle nuts.
wow. Yes they may have lowered the cradle to get the steering rack out to get the balancer on and off. It can be done without lowering the subframe.
I'd retorque the entire suspension and steering rack. You can find spec sheets searching the forum with google. A misprint floats around for the rear lower shock bolt with some crazy high 200 ft lbs value. With the car in the air, it doesn't take that long to torque the subframe, rack, all 8 a arms, engine mounts
FYI air tools are not recommended on the cradle nuts. However, yes many have used air on them without issue but there are also posts of the captured studs breaking free. I take my time with hand tools and thry to properly torque everything to avoid future headaches.
