I’ve searched the wider internet and can’t find anything that completely matches my issue, so I’m asking the pros here at CF…
My passenger side headlight was not closing all the way; it was sticking up maybe 1/4”. The driver’s side works just fine. I tried adjusting it using the wheel on the motor it no luck.
As I was messing around with it I noticed that, when it’s down, I could lift it all the way by hand. One time when I let it go down, something shifted and now it’s perfect. Opens and closes just fine.
The driver’s side, when down, is held tight.
I’m assuming the issue with the passenger side is with the gears somehow?
Appreciate any insight anyone would have, and thanks in advance.
Definitely sounds like the gear inside the motor. When you raised it by hand you probably moved it past the worn spot on the gear but that's temporary at best.
FYI: If you order the new gear, insert and gasket, make sure you order for your year. There is a difference between 97-2000 and 2001 to 2004
