I had the car in the air today changing the oil and flushing the brake fluid and noticed the rear leaf spring was splintered. I've tried searching the forum with no luck for a how to. Also, where do you find these? All the major Vette suppliers are out of stock, I have seen used ones on Ebay but don't know if they can be trusted. Stock will do BTW, not looking for a Z06 upgrade unless the price is reasonable. Thanks
I did mine in Z06 a while back.
Your options would be to buy them here at the forum , put up a wanted ad in the for sale area.
The auction site is another area you will find them.
The rear is much easier than the front, raise the car securely and let hang.
Support the the rear spring, remove the two clamps and it will drop.
I ended up finding a couple of used Vette parts sellers on Ebay and ordered one. 99 bucks shipped. Fingers crossed it is in good shape. I magnified the pics and looked it over best as I could.
I was also able to locate an old Youtube video by 'Froggy' that showed replacing the spring. Doesn't look like a bad job.
Im getting ready to pull mine out and swap to coil overs. 98 if you are interested message me. Looks to be in decent shape from what I can see. Front was not damaged when pulled.
Quick update, I got the spring in and went ahead and got a set of poly bushings to install while I was at it.. The spring I got appears to be in good shape and has a 1997 date stamped in it. It was an easy enough job, no hitches. I'm just baffled as to how a leaf spring would do this on a car with only 34,500 miles on it.
How did it work out for you? I've put on new Bilstein shocks, bushings, links inner and outer, and my ride still seems soft and I have a problem with ground clearance, so I'm suspecting the rear spring most of all. If used are only around $100 and it's not a bad job, if I can find a nice set I might as well give it a shot right? '03 C5 132K miles.

So far so good. It was an easy job. The hardest part is getting the car in the air. I had reservations about installing a used spring out of a 97 model but it worked out well.
