I searched for this information a while ago and found figures varying wildly from about 400lbs to about 750lbs for Z51 alone so I'd be interested to hear some consistent figures.
Here's a related question - as there is only one transverse spring at the front and one at the back in the vette, would you have to halve the rate when going to coilovers to get a rate for each corner ?
IMO the spring rate for a transverse spring makes sense only for one side. So a spring with 600 lbs has it on both sides. If replaced by a coilover, the rate should be higher as the angle of the coil/damper is different.
It´s amazing that even a surch here does not lead to good results.
No, it does not. Because noone answered the question, what rate they have front/rear. A lot of members know everything about 2 rwhp by this and by that, but when it comes to springs, noone will answer. I´m really confused even not to know what rate I got on my OEM spring :cry :cry
This is the TWO RWHP section if I wanted to drag I'd buy a Camaro and then put the money in the motor that was left. :D What are your plans?
I tried chasing down the same info for a long time. ZO6 was +10% over Z51 but I don't know if it was frt & rear.
I have asked about springs before i purchased and installed the Bilstein sports and Z-06 bars. Everyone told me that I was fine with the stock non-z51 springs and shouldn't worry about it.
