This is puzzling as it just started..starting car after sitting all night no issues. After driving up to the store turning off and left sitting for 5 or so minutes when restarting, turns over but acts as though it wants to not idle up normally. I'll give it a bit of gas and it's then ok. No codes, drives normal with no hesitations or misses. C5 with 80k miles. Not sure what to think... HELP PLEASE!
As I mentioned your mechanic should be looking at MAP sensor (Key On Engine Off), ECT, TPS, and APP sensors…same key on engine off…may also try to unplug MAF sensor and see if it starts better.
A leaky fuel injector/s can cause those symptoms. It floods eng when stopped for a short period. If it sits overnight the extra fuel evaporates and it's back to normal starting. Could try connecting a fuel press gauge to the rail and monitor fuel press leak-down after eng shutdown.

Possibly a leaky and I’ve done a few of these “extended” cranks diagnostics over the years and I haven’t seen a leaky injector yet…not to say it couldn’t be one…I actually did one a few days ago and it was another bad check valve…I just use a Mitvac to test the injectors and the fuel feed check valve.
