GM 4L65E A4 Now Available
I was browsing the Gm HP website when I found this info :
24221888 4L65-E Automatic Transmission
GM Hydramatic has baked even more technology enhancements into the automatic transmission line up with the new 4L65E. This transmission, the latest creation from GM Hydramatic Motorsports, is a four speed, offering all the latest heavy duty components to stand up to the power of the LS6-405 HP Corvette engines. Upgrades like induction hardened turbine input shafts, larger intermediate servo, an additional three-four clutch plate. All go toward accommodating higher engine power output. The 4L65E offers optimized performance, fuel economy and increase durability. This sate-of-the-art transmission features the latest heavy duty components and high tech-electronic controls. The advanced electronics controlling the LS6 engine also manages the 4L65E shift points, providing unparalleled performance and durability, P/N 24221888 also includes the torque converter. (No core charge required on this transmission)

I'm wondering too as they changed their website so as to make you use a dealer now. :mad Whats really interesting is their stating its for the Z06 engine? Hmmmmmmm interesting!!

Yes, I'm thinkin the same, well that should perk up sales if it pans out this spring. Thats not a bad price on the tranny. :thumbs:

Hopefully the 4l60e converters will work. Heck a core has to be worth 3-400.00 to a rebuilder, one of those new 4l65s may make its way into my car soon :)

Interesting... Could this be the tranny for the new Caddy XLR??? If I remember correctly it is supposed to get a variant of the LS6 (detuned maybe??)

it comes with a converter....all for $1800 and no core charge, this thing could pay for itself easily :D

it comes with a converter....all for $1800 and no core charge, this thing could pay for itself easily :D
Some of us dont use stock converters :) They mention a hardened input shaft so I hope they didnt change anyhtimg. Its a good deal, nothing wrong wih a brand spanking new trans..
