Just purchased a c5, and one of the headlights is stuck in the down position. My first car, so I really don't know anything about cars yet haha. Went for a test drive with the owner the day before I purchased it and both headlights opened fine, but when I drove it one didn't open. The previous owner says that the **** needs to be adjusted, and that it's not a stripped gear. Would appreciate any suggestions on how I could fix this.
Hopefully it is the easy fix that I found fixed my headlight when a new motor did not open the headlight all the time. First, I made sure all the stops were in place; Second, I separated the connection between the motor and the control module making sure all fit snugly and were tight together, and third, I backed off the manual *** about a 1/2 a turn (counter clockwise).
Definitely check those 4 rubber stops. If the electrical connections are all good and the headlight bulb lights up it could be just a bad gear motor itself. The good news is it's maybe a 1-2 hour job......I did mine this last monday. Be aware though that the motors for the 97-99 are different from the 00-04
