Default Need help choosing a new throttle body

01, C5 6spd. So my car has had some trouble as of late my friend diagnosed the main problem as the ignition switch and tps sensor. However he took off the throttle body and discovered some of the gear ridges were completely broken off. As of right now I’m debating going the junkyard/part out route or buying an aftermarket/performance throttle body. Only thing is my car is completely stock except for a muffler so I’m confused as if a 92mm for example would fit also if there is a performance one that would fit what would it be, thank you

Just get a stock replacement. If you put in anything else you will need a tune and it won't do anything to increase horsepower.

What trouble did the bad throttle body cause or were the problems corrected with the ignition switch and tps sensor?

So the problem it started having was the car would sputter and not turn over and it would usually take a few tries sometimes it was turning over first try others it took 8. My buddy diagnosed it as throttle body, tps sensor and ignition switch. I’ve ordered and received the ignition switch so I’m planning on installing that this week. However I’ve been waiting to get the throttle and tps sensor till after I’ve put in the ignition switch simply so that I don’t start multiple things at the same time. Also I didn’t know which throttle to get or if I should just get one from a part out. Anyways the throttle body that I know of didn’t cause any issues except for at full throttle is what I’ve been told. He sent me a video of it and a few of the ridges of the gears were just completely ripped off
