02' C5 with memory package. When I unlock the door with key fob the driver side mirror goes into an adjustment mode that moves it all over the place. It eventually stops in a position that is no where close to where it was set. It's been set a million times in Mem #1 position but goes nuts when I use the fob to get in the car. Seat does not re-adjust passenger mirror does not re-adjust. Just driver mirror. Sick of using my key unlock the car. Anyone been through this?
I have the same thing, and just used my new OTOFIX scan tool on it. (thanks to Toys4Life doing a video using it)
What I got back was a loss of feedback communication from the mirror so it has no clue what the position is and just goes nuts.
It's been crazy hot so when it cools down I am going to dig into it, could just be a wire or bad module. Thanks to the OTOFIX I have a direction to start my hunt for the issue.
Just another electrical anomaly I have learned to work around in my '04. My mirrors will do a 'jig' when I use the key fab to open the car. The owners manual says that the memory recall can be stopped by pressing one of the mirror buttons. Not so in my 04. Now, I just use the key to open the door if I do not want the mirrors to do the 'jig'.
.
My 2001 started doing that right after I bought it (new) and they replaced both my mirror motor packs under warranty. A few months later, started again. In my case, it seems like the mirror pegs seem to become somewhat loose in their sockets (there are two motor drive pegs and I am guessing the other two pegs are for position feedback?). I have found when the mirrors really act up, sometimes if I grab the mirror and housing with both hands and squeeze them together things start working again for a while?
On the plus side, after living with it for 24 years, my eyes now move independently.
Yeah my glass flutters a little when bass in door speaker is up. A little sloppy when adjusting also. Scared to death to put a lot of pressure on the glass in the event one of pegs is not in. Videos of using a block of wood with a towel to spread the pressure but **** that's an expensive piece of glass (dim feature).
