Looking for experiences with hi flow or hi performance mechanical water pumps. 2004 LS6 Z06.

Stick with a stock GM pump. Flow rate is a science for proper cooling.

I'd like to find an American made pump....pretty sure Gates and AC Delco are imports.
Edelbrock and Evans are US products I believe.

The faster the flow, the greater the efficiency. That’s science.

Old school used to be not to move the coolant through the radiator too fast, so it has time to cool. Problem with that is the rest of the water is in the engine longer getting hotter. Frankly, I’d just get a better radiator.

I've been running the PRW pump and never had a problem with the car overheating

The OEM spec. water pumps are more than adequate.
