Default Strange Slave Cylinder Failure

Hello, slave cylinder went out, but in a weird way.

Relevant Specs: Tick master cyclinder (7/8 bore), Monster single disc (550-700hp one).

Slave cylinder managed to eject its internal metal thing (no idea what it’s even called, I just know it’s not meant to leave the slave cylinder). It pushed the metal chunks through the fingers in the pressure plate and then they got lodged there, after which I could no longer put my vette into gear due to the aforementioned slave cylinder failure.

My question is what could’ve caused this strange failure, and how can I avoid it in the future!

Attached are 2 videos which better explain the situation.

Edit 1: Took slave off, slave wasn’t shimmed, lots of clutch dust so maybe clutch wore down and slave overextended? Not sure if those few MM would even be the “make or break” for the slave. Let me know what y'all think.

My bet the tick M/C caused it. Don't need all that pressure. Or monster recommended it then it was something else

Not the pressure, but the displacement. You needed and need to make sure the master cylinder is adjusted and has a physical stop to prevent over extending the slave cylinder piston.

I know that Tick has a guide on how to adjust the master cylinder, but I don’t recall them ever mentioning a physical stop. Would the physical stop not be the stock stop on the floor/firewall area?

Thank you
