Default Stock 04Z fuel limits?

Hello, this winter I'm considering having my stock heads ported or maybe buying an aftermarket set. Plus adding a cam in the area of 112LSA and 0.600 lift. And a dyno tune of coarse.
I already have full LT headers and high flow bullet cats and corsa exhaust.
Due to budget I'm thinking of keeping my stock LS6 intake, TB, and MAF. Besides I'm not so interested in 6000+ rpm power as this is a 99.99% driven street car. 2500-6000rpms is where I almost always play.

So if I were to limit my scope to heads, cam, and dyno tune, is my stock fuel system capable of handling the increased power?
Could I get away with just upgrading the injectors?
Anyone w/experience in this type of project?

Regards, Richard

I have full bolt ons, with heads and a 112 LSA texas speed cam. I made 468 on stock injectors but their duty cycle was 90+%. Most people go with the 42lb injectors. I went with 60s because I was going to upgrade to E85 later.

Your pump is up for it. Your injectors ought to be also, but raise the question with your tuner on that point before you buy X or Y brand.

OR.... remember the option of the SC route. All the fun, and easily swapped to stock if you ever sold the car.

You can certainly get away with just swapping injectors. 42lb is my recommendation also.

Thank you for the replies. Yes I'm eyeing a ECS or A&A SC too. I know a SC would be much better. But they seem to make the most power above 4000rpms. That's just not really my style of driving. I want the most meat in the 2500-5000 area. Of course they make more but they also cost more too.

I suggest driving one before you decide. Check your local club for a member who could give you a ride.

Having owned two C5Z's with large cams, heads, etc., if I were to do it a 3rd time I would DEFINITELYl go forced induction on a stock motor. I had a mustang cobra that had a D1SC supercharger, and the driveability is stock and the power slides in when you need it. With a cammed car you sacrifice some driveability and as some point you will definitely grenade a lifter or spring if you're enjoying the car. It's just part of it.

Plus, there is a scientifically proven fact that the minute a LS motor is cracked open and the internals see sunshine, the magic escapes the crank case. It's science n' stuff.
