Steering column lock question
I know this is discussed above in detail but a question. I have a 2000 base M6 it has the module installed in the footwell without the brown wire mod. On rare occasions I get the pull key message, but even with the car off and key out I can turn the steering wheel freely. Does this mean the lock has been removed or does this happen to all of the cars with the module installed.

If you have the LMC5 installed it disables the steering wheel column lock, because it simulates the column lock. The only way to determine if your column lock plate has been removed is to pull the steering wheel itself.

Ok thank you, have wondered about this since I got it and seen someone installed LMC5. They didn’t do the brown wire mod, is this something I should do, I attempted it a year ago but couldn’t get it the plug unhooked and was afraid it would break something.
