Default 2002 C5 electrical issue

Okay, been chasing this for a while now. Replace headers not long ago and yes, I reattached and checked all the grounds and resurfaced everything. DIC is not functioning except for security light. When lights are turned on dash lights function. None of the windows will operate. Windshield wipers won't work and courtesy lights on mirror do not come on.. I have replaced the ignition switch. I have taken the grounds and clean them in the engine compartment at the rear of the car and under the driver's footwell. I took everything apart, cleaned everything, treated it with dialectic grease and put it back with a brand new bolt. Nothing. Yes I took rubber out at door and there are no plug connections like I see on other posts. Pot a camera in there to double check as well.

Find yourself a scan tool and see what trouble codes you may have…you always want to start there.

Default No codes

There are no codes. Can't pull codes off DIC if it doesn't work. My code reader come up with nothing.

I had said use a scan tool to read DTC’s…a cheap “code reader” will not read body, chassis, or communication codes…only powertrain

Meanwhile check the grounds on the side of the block and back of the heads.

Also check the two grounds on the chassis right behind each headlight... it's a plug that grounds to the chassis, once it's unscrewed, take it apart and clean each connection, I don't remember how many there are in each plug but it's quite a few, those two grounds can cause alot of problems as well...

Default Update

Bought an Autel MK808S, cleared every DTC code. Re.ran diagnostic. In the hot function I can make the windows operate. But I find it hard to believe both switches go out at the same time. As far as the instrument cluster, all I get is cannot communicate... any ideas anyone? There are zero codes now coming up on the vehicle.

For any module “no comm” the first thing you want to do is check the IPC power and grounds…pull the IPC and then check A13 with key on and A14 is battery voltage…you can just use a 12 volt test light…to check the 2 grounds B13 and B15 connect test light to A14 and probe both grounds…if grounds are both good IPC is bad…there is something you can try is find the 2 splice packs to the left of the BCM and remove the “comb” or buss bar off the connector with the 8 or 9 wires and clean that comb with some sand paper…if it has some corrosion the scan tool will not be able to communicate with it or any other module…you may also want to check for continuity between A11 at the IPC and the splice pack…if the wire is broken somewhere you also will not be able to communicate with the IPC.
