Blower Motor Volumn
I have owner my 1998 C5 for 18 months. Since I have owned it the volumn of air coming from the vents has been low at best, even when the blower motor speed is set to it's highest output. I found the vacuum line at the back of the intake manifold was disconnected. I connected it and that help a bunch. Now when the blower is set on max, I get air blower volumn about medium, but still not full. My son has an 2001 C5 , and his air volumn at high speed is at least twice what mine is now.
When I purchased the car , the next day I replaced both of the blend door actuators. That fixed where the air was being distributed ( defrost, dash, foot well ) problem, but not the low volumn of air. As mentioned above, when I connected the vacuum hose to the back of the intake manifold, that helped a bunch, but not like my sons on his 2001.
So I'm thinking there might still be a vacuum leak, but am not sure. Oh, I forgot to mention, I have replaced the blower motor.
Any thoughts???
Set the mode to Vent
Blower on high
check and feel the floor and defrost outlets, do you feel any air?
Set to floor and do the same feel test for vent and defrost
Set to defrost and do the same feel test for vent and floor
If you feel air flow in modes where you should not, you have a mode actuator problem, mode door problem, or vacuum problem.
