Default P0335 Code. No start.

I have a 99 Vettte with a LS3. Just went through and did a bunch of top end work and the car was running great.

Made a dumb mistake when starting the work and took the hood off the hinges instead of the hinges off the car, and the damn bracket fell into the hood.

So long story long, I drove it a couple times with no hood and got stuck in torrential down pour. Car didn't like it at all. 1st code was P0336 as I was stalled on the side of the road. After about a half hour car started fine and I drove it home about 15 miles. Tried to start it a few days later and will not fire, now it is throwing p0335. The crankshaft position sensor has 5.1ohms on it and the plug is reading 11v. Something is screwed up somewhere. Just can't find it.
I think I am wasting time by putting a sensor in but I guess that is my next step and cross my fingers.

Thank you for any advice
Brian

Might check the PCM wiring, pull connectors off and blow dry the cable connectors and the matting connectors on the PCM.

CKP sensor is not usually ohm’ed out to check it but you should check it for the 12 volt feed, low reference (ground) and signal before replacing…and use an OEM sensor if you do replace it…has the car has been running fine with the LS3 ???

Sorry to see that, unfamiliar with that sort of problem, does that mean that the connectors will have to be replaced?

Yes car was running good with LS3.
I dont know if it is a LS1 or LS3 crank sensor.
cam sensor has an adapter but crank sensor does not. Guessing it is a pcm issue with the broken connector pieces. Looks like I will purchase a blue/red connector kit and replace the broken parts and see of that does it.

The LS1 uses a 24X reluctor and the LS3 as on my 2008 uses a 58X (60-2 teeth) reluctor so I’m assuming it’s an LS1 if your PCM is from your 1999…the LS1 uses a 12 volt reference vs the 5 volt on the LS3…don’t know where you’ll find the plastic shields for the connector.

Sure, in addition to telling you where to find the part. I'm certain that an intelligent person like yourself appreciates using the correct terminology in a sea of misinformation.

LOL.
