Default oil pan help

hey guys, im in need of some help. i had to rebuild my 2002 c5 ls1 5.7, and i dont want to go back with the bat wing oil pan. i bought an oil pan but the front end was too thick and would sit on the leaf spring and not allow the engine to sit all the way do to bolt up the motor mounts. i bought another pan that was only 1 7/8 thick and now the pick up tube wont allow the pan to fit on the block on the front end. right at the elbow coming off the oil pump, the tub hits the inside of the pan. ive tried 2 different pans and 2 different tubes. i dont know what else to do. i have been fighting this engine for almost 3 years now and i feel like its getting close to meeting the sledge hammer.

can anyone point me in the right direction for the proper "regular" style pan and pick up tube?

A C6 wet sump oil pan is what you are after. https://www.improvedracing.com/c6-co...9_5lP_Pq2LaJBu.

Not 100% sure you won't need a different pick up, but this is a fairly common swap so I'm sure the info is out there.

I believe all that is necessary are the pan itself, and the dipstick tube/dipstick itself. My buddy @Tusc is doing this in his C5.

@ImprovedRacing Can maybe chime in for sure also?

Curious as to why you don't want the batwing pan.

as im not a mechanic and dont have access to proper equipment, i did not enjoy the fight of pulling the engine out and the wings hitting the frame, this was my very first time pulling an engine and the fight i had to go through pulling it and putting it back in was a nightmare for me. one i wish to never repeat again.

your suggestion worked like a charm however i have run into another issue. the fitting for the oil filter doesnt accept the filter i usually use and i understand i cant just throw any filter on it that does fit. is there a fitting i can swap with or a filter that would work with this other fitting that my c5 will work with properly?

Do you mean the C5 oil filters won't thread in? Grab a 2008+ C6 oil filter.
