I’ve searched and can’t get a definitive answer to this question.
Does the GM10-Aux combined with the Cor-Har harness drain any power?
I am chasing down a battery drain issue.
Thanks in advance.
Bob
The only way to determine if you have excessive battery drain is to connect your DVM between the negative battery cable and negative terminal and select dc current setting of 10 Amps. Normal current drain should be around 25ma after the car has entered sleep mode which should take about 20 minutes.
Thanks.
I appreciate the reply and information, however what's happening is that my garage is unable to track down any type of drain. They have held the car for days at a time to try and even discover a drain, let alone identify what it might be. I don't think that they are that familiar with the C5
Two brand new batteries have gone dead within a week of each other when the car sits.
If I drive it or keep it on tender it keeps the charge. When I jump it, it immediately starts.
I've gone through a ton of posts to try and see what i could learn. I've read about how the power seats possibly causing this to happen as well as a few other suggestions.
However I did come across an old post about connecting the GM10-AUX cable and that it possibly is drawing power but not much more information than that.
That's why I was asking, to see if anyone knew for sure before I start going down the rabbit hole.
Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

Do you have a multimeter and understand how to use it?
Find yourself an auto electric shop to diagnose this…most shops just change oil and brakes so I would be confident that they can diagnose this…with my lab scope I can set it up to monitor the draw for 24 hours and I don’t have to continuously monitor the current draw…I have no idea what this doo dad you have hooked up but disconnect it and check your draw…a bad alternator diode can cause a drain…ask your shop if they have an infrared camera…that is a high tech method to check for battery drains these days…remember every time your battery goes dead it shortens its life considerably.
Thanks for the replies.
I am going to make an appointment with a shop that specializes in Corvettes on Long Island.
I’ve read a lot of posts about a bunch of Corvettes that have batteries that go dead after a period of weeks or even days.
In the meantime I am going to keep it on a tender when it’s not being driven.
It’s not a major inconvenience but none of my other vehicles have this kind of issue. (2018 Raptor / 2015 WRX)

If this Corvette specialty shop pulls fuses to look for a parasitic draw go somewhere else…they are doing it wrong !!
Thanks for the heads up. I will definitely keep an eye on things while there.
I will also print this thread out as well as another detailed thread that I found and show it to them as it should be helpful.

Probably helps to be a little more specific, as that is exactly how the technician in the video you posted confirmed the LSCM circuit was the culprit....by pulling the fuse. The practice of pulling fuses and reinserting could muddy the readings (as demonstrated in the video).

You pull the fuse AFTER you have tested all the others if that is what you are referring to…what “specifics” are you wanting ??
