When I give the car gas, it hesitates, and there's a burble to the engine. After a few seconds, it picks up again and runs like normal. At idle, it'll backfire once every minute or so. It also idles a bit rougher than normal.
Hard to say. Maybe something came loose? Check your MAF and any connections. If that doesn't work, you could try removing the 2 PCM fuses inside the fusebox while your key is in the ignition in the on position (engine not started) and wait for awhile, that will reset the PCM. I usually find things like this are related to something I just did and I didn't tighten something. Good luck.
could be a lot of things. need more info. what kind of car and mods? when did the symptoms appear first? suddenly or gradually? any codes on DIC?
it could be any number of mechanical and/or electrical items from broken valve spring to a dirty or damaged sensor. To offer suggestions without any more info would be a stab in the dark.

Thanks, I'll check the intake end for loose clamps. I did a cursory check of the plug wires as well as the headers for any cracks or loose welds.

It's an 01 with intake, headers, exhaust, x-pipe. The symptoms first appeared yesterday afternoon on the way home. Coming in was fine. The DIC wasn't throwing codes.
